Lazy Susans are a unique household item. The earliest record of one notes an eighteenth century Russian poet who reportedly had no butler and welcomed guests to his estate via signs that led them to a large, elaborate dining room.
At the center lay a beautiful dining table with a massive rotating center piece that held food and wine that guests could help themselves, a taboo and unorthodox formality amongst the nobility at the time.
And thus, the concept of a Lazy Susan took off. It was later revived in the 1960s and '70s, and once again is making a much needed come back as an essential household item that properly helps families enjoy the countless delicious dishes and warm conversation.
Naples Art Factory (NAF) is the quintessential shop for such quality, one-of-a-kind Lazy Susans. Each one is hand-made and uniquely catered to intricacies, textures, and designs, making NAF a rare niche in the market.
Usually, size is a preference depending on what you want to serve on her.
For example, for a 48” table, an 18” Lazy Susan would fit just fine, while for a 60” table, a 24” Lazy Susan would fit perfectly.
For table 70”+, a 36” Lazy Susan is necessary in order to reach well into the middle of the table.
For maximum space for food display, consider a larger Lazy Susan on the bottom, and utilizing a dish riser to place a smaller Lazy Susan on top. You can mix and match for optimal use.
